October 14, 2024 -- Featured Artist of the Week THE BLUEST SKY - TEARS FOR APPALACHIA
have produced a "CHARITY DRIVE by creating a new song and offering the track for sale to support the Asheville, NC Animal Rescue.
There were many animals that were rescued after the hurricane Helene sent the North Carolina into a total disaster zone. Some towns have been completely washed away and Asheville was hit very hard. Displaced dogs, cats, bear cubs, small wild cats and many other animals have been rescued by workers and animal lovers. Asheville Animal Rescue desperately needs donations to continue covering the needs of the area.
That "The Bluest Sky Band" has offered up their song royalty free to the shelter is a true act of love and shows the Spirit of Appalachia.
Some of you may know Chuck Melchin from his former group The Bean Pickers Union. His latest Band started with their debut album back in 2023 titled "The Bluest Sky. They have since produced their second album, which I will be adding more information about in another blog post. But for today I wanted to spread the word about this incredible Gift Of Love and The Spirit of The Carolinas.
A heartfelt thanks to them for sharing with us. It will be played on partycentralradio.net during the DJ Panther show today beginning at 12 Noon ET.
I have written and recorded a song, Tears For Appalachia, which is today available on bandcamp. It is of course in response to the horrific storm that was so devastating to the town of Asheville NC, a place I have spent a good deal of time in and have come to love. All proceeds from this offering will go to benefit Brother Wolf Animal Rescue who are doing amazing work to save our 4 legged furry friends. I will link Brother Wolf in the comments. This song features the incredible voice of Lynne Taylor from the band Rockwood Taylor and the unique talents of Dave Westner who turns a mixing board into another instrument.
